Deep & Wide

As well as expressing the praise and worship of God across the generations and throughout all seasons, the Psalms capture and chronicle the full range of human experience. At times unbridled joy and exuberant elation. At others, suffering and sorrow.  If we stay with these experiences both in the Psalms and in our own lives, we may come to discover God in all of it.

Some time ago I was struck by how simultaneously simple and profound is the children’s song “Deep & Wide”. I added two simple verses to the familiar chorus. All together, I think it seems to capture something of our “God in all things” reality.
