I was reading Tim Keller’s “Center Church” on a flight to the Philippines. The heart of the book is the Gospel. As I pressed into Keller’s text and found myself moving further and further into the heart of the Good News of the Kingdom of God. It was one of those moments when I got past the theological construct to the depth of its meaning for me personally. This is the only song that I’ve written entirely on a plane. It is an expression of deep gratitude for the Father’s gift of the Son. As the song says, “Word are not enough.”
The first person, besides me, to sing the song through was my dear friend Maki Evans there in her home in Cebu. She brought the song to life and brought the heart to it that I was longing to express through the music. I recorded her vocal hoping to capture the song as a duet, but due to technical issues we were unable to use the final track. Someday I hope you can hear her sing the song the way it was meant to be.
